SERVING AS A SPONSOR

The Christmas Project is able to help many needy families in our communities each Christmas only because neighbors generously step up to provide the money and do the work. This is what a sponsor does for a family:

  • Purchase one or more gifts for each child, considering the child's age and the interests or specific needs expressed in the Request form. Our suggested guideline is to spend between $20 and $40 for each child.
  • Also purchase one $25 gift card for the family, to be used for food.
  • Wrap the gifts during, or separately from, a Wrapping Party.
  • Make contact with the parent to clarify any questions, and to arrange for delivery of the gifts.
  • Tell Kathy of any problems or concerns along the way, and report when finished.

As you can see, becoming a sponsor means making a commitment of appreciable amounts of money and time. Amazingly, some people agree to sponsor more than one family.
